my good friend charlie, of the amazing traveling circle, asked me to custom design a snowboard for him, produced by Burton. here's a picture of how it came out!

bon voyage flyer

i designed this flyer for a friend's going away party...all hand-lettered and hand-drawn. i was told "lycklig resa" means happy trails/goodbye/bon voyage in swedish - the swede that told me that had never heard the expression but that it was perfect...?! i am considering changing out the color scheme and redoing the layout of the text so it just says "happy holidays" since i have yet to send out cards...

Beauty Illustrations

These floral designs were illustrated by me for a small beauty brand. They are not going to end up on the packaging, but I redesigned the floral to go on a snowboard for Burton, which hopefully I'll get photos for soon!

CD Cover Design

Here is a record cover I recently did for the Broken Reed Saxophone Quartet.
It is Henri Rousseau's 1910 painting The Dream, in which I replaced the figure with a Broken Reed.

Traveling Circle Logo

A while back I created a logo for Traveling Circle, and we made t-shirts, tote bags, and printed a cd with my amazing print gocco. By the way, they're playing this friday night, October 30th at NY Studio Gallery, 154 Stanton Street, in the Lower East Side!

if you know what's good for you during the holiday weekend, you'll not only attend the event i posted below, but this one here too! here's a poster i created for traveling circle's 2nd video release party, the awesome "tie a bow." there will be 4 fantastic djs, all of them my best of friends, so come on out to legion next friday! i also heard a secret band will be giving a live performance - very exciting!

AND although i didn't do a poster, i highly encourage you to come to union pool on the 4th, when josh will make his debut with sorceress!!!

Here is a new poster for an upcoming night at k&m bar in Williamsburg, featuring the very cool Brooklyn Raga Association and four of my closest friends spinning - Jodie Artichoke, Gregg Dynamite from Sorceress, Ambassador Hazy from Heavy Hands, and my very own Josh from Traveling Circle.

New Poster!

Come on out on Friday the 13th to Cakeshop, where you'll see my dear friends Sorceress, along with Prince Ruperts Drops, Grand Mal, and Twilight Procession.

I created this poster with an ink line drawing, and then layered it up with a multitude of colors...looks kind of 3d, doesn't it? Let's get some glasses and try it out!

Records and Drums

One of the things I love doing most is painting drum heads! Its so much fun to see them in action when the bands play.

Heavy Hands asked me to illustrate one for them based off of a mask from Sri Lanka. They then used it for their record cover! Their music is great too - buy a copy of the record and you'll love it! : )

New Poster for Arthur Magazine Benefit

Here's a new show poster for Weird Owl, Traveling Circle, and Brooklyn Street Raga Association, playing at Glasslands on January 24th. This show is a benefit for the amazing Arthur Magazine.

I have been creating these posters almost completely digitally for a long time, but this time decided to use a traditional technique. This was done in pen and ink, with a guache painting on a separate piece, which I then layered together. I'll definitely be trying this method again in the future.
